Mao Xiaofang (Lam Ching-ying), the 18th generation descendant of Zhang Tianshi, travels south to Hong Kong with his apprentice Ah Fan (Yung Kam-cheung) to track down the Zombie King. There, they meet Yang Feiyun (Tsui Siu-keung), a master of divination and fortune-telling. Xiaofang's superb skills bring him great fame, but this arouses the jealousy of Zhong Jun (Yuen Qiu-dan), the charlatan leader of the Seven Sisters Hall, and the two become enemies. Coincidentally, Zhong Jun's younger brother, Zhong Bang (Wong Shu-ki), is a five-generation prodigy in the arts of Taoism. Under Xiaofang's persistent persuasion, Zhong Bang becomes his apprentice.
However, Feiyun is actually a treacherous and cunning person. After learning that Xiaofang is his nemesis, he plots against him repeatedly, even resorting to a desperate measure to become the Great Demon King. To deal with Feiyun, Zhong Bang is forced to forget his love and drink the potion of oblivion, becoming a five-generation prodigy and forgetting his lover Yu Bixin (Annie Man), with whom he has overcome many obstacles to be together. He then joins forces with Xiaofang to destroy Feiyun.
